Spa La Quinta: Located at the legendary La Quinta Resort, Spa La Quinta has one of most beautiful outdoor garden areas for relaxation after an amazing treatment. Fantastic signature treatments include the Orange Blossom Special Body Facial and The Desert Match Tennis Massage.

The Spa at Big Horn Golf Club: This legendary destination features some of the finest homes and golf – not only in the desert, but in the world. Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sorenstam have all played here. Big Horn is the home of the Skins Game, and the LPGA Samsung World Championship. And now you have the chance to experience its spa. Get ready for the “Dream Journey”, a signature three hour treatment which includes Australian Aboriginal massage techniques. And of course, there’s the “Golfer’s Massage” which uses a unique combination of traditional, deep tissue and sports massage to target those hard to reach, golf-specific muscles. A world class experience all around.

The Well at Miramonte Resort and Spa: This charming spa is located within this exclusive, smaller resort in Indian Wells. Two signature treatments found nowhere else in the valley and are not to be missed are the Mediterranean Massage using essential oils of basil, orange and lemon, and the Lemon Vitale body scrub.

Spa Esmeralda: Located in the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells, Spa Esmeralda has many wonderful treatments, but we like them most for their pregnancy treatments including the Mellow Mama massage and the Yummy Tummy treatment, offered in second and third trimester. We also like that they have a massage for insomniacs called the ZBliss Massage.

Agua Serena Spa: Located in the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, we like Agua Serena for its use of indigenous ingredients from the Coachella Valley in its Desert Sage and Date Sugar Scrub. We’re curious about the Mint Julep Scrub and the Athlete’s Massage.

Spa Desert Springs at Marriott: Enjoy the signature Desert Journey Scrub treatment “inspired by fragrant scents of the desert in bloom” or one of their Ayurvedic treatments which are based on the ancient Hindu art of medicine and prolonging life.

Spa at Spa Resort Casino: Located in heart of Palm Springs, the Spa at Spa Resort Casino offers its signature “Taking of the Waters” experience, which includes a soak in the area’s famous mineral waters. But we’re also interested in the “Cookie Dough Indulgence” body scrub and massage or the “You Gotta Try This”, which is a “full body Swedish-based massage with the added benefit of self heating marine mud.”

Sunstone: The Spa at Agua Caliente: Just opened in April 2008, along with the new Agua Caliente Resort, Sunstone is a gorgeous spa offering top massage, body and facial treatments. The “Deep Blue Desert” massage piques our interest for its combination of arnica, violet and white ginger, to relax and relieve soreness and tiredness. And the jade facial which uses imperial jade rollers on the skin to bring out the utmost in the healing ingredients used, sounds heavenly. The men’s menu is very impressive. And the private label custom scents are to die for!

The Spa at Two Bunch Palms: This is a world renowned spa located at the Two Bunch Palms Resort in Desert Hot Springs. It’s known for its many diverse treatments. The mineral water from underground springs is superb. The mud baths are not to be missed. But we think the most unique treatment is the “Wassertanzen” or water dancing, a form of aquatic bodywork where your body is stretched and massaged while floating in an outdoor Watsu pool.

The Day Spa at the Spring: Located at The Spring Resort and Spa in Desert Hot Springs, its mineral waters speak for themselves. But we like it for “Cranial Dreamwork”, a massage which opens the spine, and facilitates relaxation in the muscles and bones of the face, neck and shoulders. All good for those with migraines, eyestrain from those darn computer terminals, and TMJ. (Note that it isn’t offered everyday.) And we like The Spring Buff, which is a skin buff using specially imported mitts, followed by a massage, and a luxurious hairwash. And you get to keep the mitts!!!!

The Palm Springs Yacht Club: Located at the famous Parker in Palm Springs, you’ll find a deep tissue rubdown called “The Wringer”, or the gentler Thai inspired stretches called “Voodoo We Do”. The “Sugar Daddy” scrubs you down with sugar and exfoliating oil. Seal the deal with “Poseidan’s Confidant”, a facial where collagen is mixed with orange blossom and licorice. Let your skin drink it in.

Estrella Spa: Located at the Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs, Estrella Spa features exclusive treatments like the “Lava Shell Massage” which features smooth shells from the Oceans of the Pacific, or the “Bamboo Ritual Treatment” which releases the vital flow of energy in the body, based on the principles of caring for the body, developed and perfected in Japan.

El Morocco Spa: Located at the exclusive, boutique El Morocco Resort and Spa in Desert Hot Springs, we hear nothing but serious kudos for everything at the spa. “Sultans’ Silk and Satin Massage” has people talking because it’s oil free. You are actually massaged through layers of silk and satin. Where do we sign up? But apparently, “The Moroccan Mystic Ritual” is the be all-end all, simply described as a total body facial and massage.

SpaTerre: This spa is located at Palm Springs’ Riviera Resort and Spa. Enjoy their Balinese massage, based on the traditions of Bali using a combination of acupressure, rolling rhythms and rhythmic strokes or enjoy their Private Steam-Zen Room by yourself, with your partner, or with friends. Sweeten the deal by adding chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, or any other cocktail you’d like. SpaTerre also has specially designed spa services for children of all ages.
